2/5:      A newspaper article detailing this can be found on Vol.1
          #3, 6-7/1 (second paper from left).

3/1:      A headline referring to this event is present on Vol.1
          #3, 6-7/1 (second paper from right). First reference to
          the Underlord.

 /5:      This panel is probably depicting the events of Jack-In-
          The-Box II's first excursion, as detailed in a newspaper
          article on Vol.1 #3, 6-7/1 (rightmost paper). Note the
          Veidt Street sign, corresponding to that story.

7/1:      Finger Street refers to Bill Finger (1917-1974), the
          foremost Batman writer until the 1960s. Finger helped
          create such classic characters as the Penguin, the
          Riddler, Two-Face and the Catwoman, and also did
          considerable work on other DC characters and for other
          companies.

14/1:     Like Robinson Prep (see #5, 11/2), the Robinson Hotel is
          named for Golden Age Batman artist Jerry Robinson  
          (1922- ).

  /5:     First appearance of Jack-In-The-Box III and the Gorilla
          Troops.

15/1:     First appearance of the Brass Monkey, previously
          mentioned on Vol.1 #3, 6-7/1.
